From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Show_Control:
MIDI Show Control, or MSC, is a real-time System Exclusive extension of the international
Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) standard. MSC enables all types of entertainment
equipment to communicate with each other through the process of show control.
While MMC - MIDI Machine Control is meant to control a particular machine - play, stop, pause, rewind etc. - MSC is more oriented towards the show. MSC transmits commands particular to a show: you can call specific cues of specific cuelists.
MIDI Show Control is supported by a number of software, e.g. by QLab: you can send MSC messages from QLab into Titan, in order to control the show.
As for the implementation have a look at the manual. You need to set the device ID in the Timecode tab of the User Settings. Then you can call these commands:
GO | Fire the specified playback or cue |
STOP | Pause the specified playback or cue |
RESUME | Un-pause the specified playback or cue |
LOAD | Set the playback level to full |
ALL OFF | Release all playbacks |
RESET | Same as ALL OFF |
GO OFF | Same as resume |
Here is an example of controlling Titan from QLab via MIDI Show Control:
